Simply Romance Reviews.
Maggie is a smart, resourceful heroine who alternately infuriated and tickled me with her stubborn yet endearing nature. Sexy Gideon swept me off my feet from the start.
Charming and handsome, yet hopelessly enamored with his one true love, he’ll stop at nothing to make her his once more.
Ms. Rutan takes the reader from the bustle of New York City to the peaceful countryside of rural Ireland, crafting an atmosphere of serenity and calm, then promptly shatters that calm when Quinn McDougal, a psychopath worthy of any modern horror film, steps into the picture.
The story clicks along like a well oiled machine, moving back and forth between Maggie’s terrifying predicament, and Gideon’s torturous journey to get her back.
When they are finally reunited, their love has been sorely tested, but survives and blossoms.
The love scenes are tender and romantic, yet hot enough to be satisfying. A cast of supporting characters keeps the story entertaining and diverse and opens nicely to a sequel.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from the author.
A Love That Lasts is a tale that will satisfy the hopeless romantic in anyone. Thank you Ms. Rutan, for a wonderful read.
